H. L. Brown has over 150 years’ experience as a luxury watch and jewellery retailer.
Founder, Harris Leon Brown, established the firm in 1861 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and it remains a family business today, located in the heart of our historic city which is associated with high quality craftsmanship.
We have been an Official Rolex Retailer for over 60 years and are proud to be partnered with the brand to bring you an exceptional Rolex experience.
Our history
H. L. Brown is recognised as being the provider of the historical 1 o’clock time signal in the city centre. It was first sounded in 1874, the firm proudly announcing its direct signal from Greenwich. The siren is also sounded every year on Remembrance Day, and on other occasions when the City Council requests.

In 1986, H. L. Brown moved to its current Barkers Pool, Sheffield store, which has been specially designed to the highest standards and hosts our newly refurbished Rolex showroom. Customers can meet our team in an elegant and relaxed environment, as well as view the Rolex collections and enjoy a variety of refreshments during your stay.
